Leadership with a lasting impact. ✨

After years of working with some of the most iconic brands, I know the positive impact brand marketing has in building deeper relationships with customers and elevating historically underrepresented individuals in media. As the Director of Social Media at Microsoft, I am humbled to have the opportunity to continue to advance and push what working in tech means and looks like, which has implications far outside of our corporate offices.

👨‍💼 As a leader, I’ve hired historically underrepresented people to contribute new opportunities, address underlying concerns, and share their genuine authenticity, which, hopefully, will continue to create a positive ripple effect and shift in industry culture. I know I can always turn to my exceptional and diverse team members to share their perspectives and concerns when I need a second opinion.

🌈🇵🇾 As a gay Latino from rural Wisconsin, I want to create a space not only for me but for my team to feel comfortable, confident, and respected; for our audience to feel seen and represented; and for tech to continue to lead the way in how we relate to and connect with one another. With projects, I advocate for campaigns to feature models and influencers of color to share their stories and perspectives to better connect with a growing, diverse audience and to see the faces and hear the voices I was missing in media as a child.

🤝 As a coworker, I show up with empathy, honoring team members as who they are in and out of the office to create an open, respectful environment. This gives my team and I the space and grace to rely on our years of experience having worked with the biggest brands and alongside the best mentors to voice our opinions while also holding the humility to admit when we don’t know and need to ‘Bing’ an answer.

Diversity, authenticity, and empathy are at the core of who I am and fuel my passion for the work and teams I am a part of.

That’s what I strive for: changing the faces, culture, and connection big tech has with our world. That’s what I mean by leadership with a lasting impact. Period. ✨
